OBF Worship Philosophy (PDF)

At OBF we are excited about fulfilling the word that Jesus has called us to do. Jesus’ own words in Matthew 28:19-20 best describe just what this mission looks like:

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.

We believe this Great Commission statement, the call to make disciples, is the task to which every believer in Jesus Christ is called, not just those in leadership. This is mission that energizes us and informs every single ministry that we are a part of.

In every setting, Open Bible Fellowship is seeking to make disciples who worship Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth with their entire lives. By God’s grace, we strive to implant solid truth-filled and Spirit-led worship into every available opportunity from our weekend worship services, to our prayer nights, to our small group nights and so on. Worship is more than singing, and we want to see Jesus glorified by men and women who worship him in everything they do.

Our style of worship is contemporary and diverse. We also love to mix in some of the great old hymns and spirituals. Even though we have a contemporary style in worship, we strive to always use songs that are biblical and reflect the awesome character of our Heavenly Father. We believe that God created music, and that all styles and genres can be used to glorify Him!
